GREENSBORO, N.C. — Led by juniors Cheyne Kendall and Jimmy Keener who each shot 70s (-2) in the first round, Schreiner has the lead after the first round of the NCAA national championships. SU shot a 285 (-3) to lead 10-time champion Methodist by one stroke after the first day of play.

Playing in the very last wave of players, Kendall and Keener were in fifth-place individually after playing their round.
After the completion of Wednesday’s round, the top 15 teams will advance to the final 36 holes of play on Thursday and Friday to determine the national champion. This is just SU’s second time in the national tournament. Schreiner finished 15th in its first appearance at last year’s event.
