Johnny Gaudreau proved this season for Boston College that he knows how to score a goal. On Friday, he showed those skills can transfer to another sport.
Gaudreau, who had 80 points (36 goals, 44 assists) for the Eagles, became the third Eagle to win the Hobey Baker Award as the most outstanding player in Division I. On Friday, he was back at BC to “throw” out the first pitch before the baseball game against Pittsburgh.
The Eagles advanced to the Frozen Four, where they lost to eventual champion Union (N.Y.) in the semifinals.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, Gaudreau now plays for the Calgary Flames — where he scored a goal in his first NHL game — though his younger brother, Matthew, returns to Boston College for his sophomore season next year.
