Fredericton Rowing Club will be the venue for the first of several events, made possible through the Club and Coach Grant, Powered by Immunocal®. In conjunction with Fredericton Rowing Club’s Head of the 4 Bridges Regatta, the Club is hosting a High Performance Clinic that will welcome National Team coach Al Morrow and National Training Centre athlete and Fredericton native, Adam Bliss.
Sponsored by health and wellness company Immunotec Inc., this visit is providing a great opportunity for Fredericton Rowing Club to hear from Rowing Canada Aviron’s Al Morrow, who has represented Canada at the Olympic level as both a rower and coach and now leads Canada’s lightweight men’s program.
“The Club and Coach Grant, made possible by Immunotec Inc., is a great way for our best coaches and athletes to give back to our local clubs,” said Donna Atkinson, CEO of Rowing Canada Aviron. “The Fredericton Rowing Club has done some exceptional work to grow their club and provide more and more opportunities for the local community in Fredericton to experience our great sport. In winning this grant, we hope to reward their hard work and support their continued growth as well as the development of rowers and coaches across New Brunswick.”
The Head of the 4 Bridges Regatta is taking place on Saturday, the 20th of September, on the St. John River. Participants and their coaches have been invited to attend the free High Performance Clinic the following day at Fredericton Rowing Club.
“This is a great opportunity for me to meet many of the coaches and volunteers that are responsible for growing the sport at the grassroots level and producing a top rower like Adam Bliss,” said Al Morrow, Rowing Canada Aviron’s Performance Director, Lightweight Men.
Spectators are encouraged to make their way to one of many vantage points along the trail system, with the walking bridge being an ideal spot to catch the first half of all the races, on Saturday.
