· Saskatchewan narrowly escaped Week 2 with a victory defeating the Alberta Golden Bears in overtime after stopping a two-point convert attempt.

· Since 2004, Calgary has only won three times in the seven meetings in Griffiths Stadium – 20-19 in 2007, 20-8 in 2011 and 24-12 in 2013. Saskatchewan has lost five straight games to the Dinos.

· Calgary’s offence has been explosive in the first two games of the season scoring 130 points. Saskatchewan’s isn’t far behind with 86 – including eight touchdown tosses.

· At Friday’s game, the Huskies will Support Our Troops for the fifth straight season. The pregame ceremony will include a colour guard, a moment of silence, a flyover, a ceremonial coin toss and kickoff. The Huskies’ traditional pregame flag plant and raising will honour the contributions of our Canadian Forces. Postgame fans are treated to special fireworks dedicated to the Canadian Forces.

· A tailgate party for fans and supporters, as well as military personnel and their families, will be hosted by the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce on Field 2, just west of the Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park entrance. Proceeds of the event will go toward the Soldier On Fund. Local country singer Jess Moskaluke will perform on the Conexus Community Stage.

Since 2000, the Huskies are 11-11 against the Dinos in conference action. Calgary won both meetings between the two teams in 2013.

Scoring 130 points in its first two games, the Calgary Dinos look to continue on the path to a seventh straight Hardy Cup championship.

Quarterback Andrew Buckley has taken the majority of the snaps for the Dinos completing 34-of-47 passes for 635 yards and seven touchdowns. Reigning Canada West MVP Mercer Timmis has continued his dominance from 2013 tallying 196 yards and three touchdowns in his touch games. Receivers Brett Blaszko and Jake Harty each have two touchdowns. Blaszko’s amassed an impressive 347 yards in the two games.

Calgary’s defence has given up just 14 points in the first two weeks. Cyril Iwanegbe has led the Dinos with 12.5 tackles. The group has combined for six interceptions, one forced fumble and four sacks.

Saskatchewan held on for a Week 2 victory thwarting off an Alberta Golden Bears comeback by stopping a two-point convert attempt in overtime.

Alberta fought back from a 24-9 third quarter deficit to force overtime, including 19 points in the fourth quarter. Saskatchewan quarterback Drew Burko hit 2013 All-Canadian Kit Hillis to score the Huskies’ overtime touchdown.

Burko has kept the Huskies’ offence on track completing 49-of-79 passes for 601 yards and eight touchdowns in his two games in 2014. Hillis, John Trumpy and Andrew Lalonde have been main targets each scoring two touchdowns. Hillis leads the team with 143 yards in two games, followed by Trumpy with 114.

Fifth-year safety Mark Ingram, a 2014 CIS All-Canadian, continues to be tough on opponents with 13.5 tackles in two games – eight against the Golden Bears in Week 2. Fourth-year linebacker Dane Bishop has tallied another 9.5 for the Huskies, while Dylan Kemp has added eight.
