Americans Name Assistant Captains for 2014-15 Season


Sept 19, 2014 (ISN) – Kennewick, WA – Tri-City Americans’ Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced
today Americans’ Lucas Nickles, Beau McCue and Brandon Carlo have been named the
assistant captains for the 2014-15 season.

Nickles, a native of Salmon Arm, B.C., is about to begin his fourth season with the
Americans. The 20-year-old forward has played 193 WHL games, scoring 28 goals and 66
points. He has also played in 21 playoff games, recording two assists. Nickles led
the team with four goals in the 2014 preseason.

McCue, from Colorado Springs, CO, is entering his third season with the Americans
and has played in 126 games in an Ams sweater. He recorded career-highs last year
with 20 goals and assists while playing in all 72 games. He has 37 goals and 69
points in his WHL career.

Carlo, also hailing from Colorado Springs, CO, is entering his sophomore season with
the Americans after a great rookie campaign. The 6’5″ defenseman played in 71 games
last season, recording three goals and 13 points. Carlo was named to the 2015 watch
list as a top prospect by NHL Central Scouting and will participate in the USA
Hockey All-American Prospects game on Sept. 25 in Buffalo, N.Y.

“Leadership is important to any successful team,” Tri-City Americans Head Coach Mike
Williamson said. “The players that will wear the letters along with other
individuals on the team to make up a strong leadership group. I am confident they
will lead by example, work hard on a daily basis and ensure that everyone is doing
things the right way.”

There will also be other players involved in the leadership group during the course
of the season.

“These players should be honored to carry on a strong tradition of leadership,”
stated Tory.

The 2014-15 season begins on Saturday, Sept. 20, with Jack in the Box Rock the Rink
Saturday Night, as the Tri-City Americans take on the Spokane Chiefs in the regular
season home opener, sponsored by Tri-Cities Rotary, SunWest Sportswear and U.S.
Linen and Uniform, URock Radio (Smooth Jazz 102.3) and Tú Decides. Game time is 7:05
p.m. at the Toyota Center. Tickets are on sale now through all Ticketmaster
