Baseball splits in Kelowna

Sept 20,2014(ISN) – Kelowna, BC- The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team split games with the Okanagan College Coyotes on the road.

The first game the WolfPack picked up a 3-1 victory.

The ‘Pack pitching staff put together a solid team performance.

Mike Riddle (Surrey, BC) pitched 5 innings. He gave up 5 hits, 1 run and 1 earned run. Riddle walked 1 and struck out 5.

Thomas Copeland (Sherwood Park, AB) pitched 1 inning and struck out 3.

Finally, Jason Tripp (Sherwood Park, AB) contributed another 3 strikeouts in the last inning to register the save.

Erik Herbranson (Maple Ridge, BC) had a great day at the plate going 3-4. Herbranson hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run.

Morgan Varley (Victoria, BC) went 2-4 at the plate.

The ‘Pack dropped game two to the Okanagan College Coyotes 9-3.

Offensively, Blayne Halland (Kamloops, BC) went 2-2.

Reid Flasch (Lloydminster, AB) was 1-2 at the plate with a stolen base and a run.

On the mound, Reagan Gillis picked up the loss.
