Kamloops Blazers Associate Coach Mark Ferner has stepped down

Sept 22,2014(ISN) – Kamloops, BC – Kamloops Blazers Associate Coach Mark Ferner has stepped down from his position to join the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL as their General Manager and Head Coach.

Ferner joined the Blazers prior to the start of the 2013-14 season as the team’s Associate Coach after being let go as the Everett Silvertips Head Coach during the 2012-13 WHL season.

Prior to Ferner joining the Silvertips, he coached the Vernon Vipers to three straight BCHL Championships and two consecutive Royal Bank Cups as the Canadian Junior A Champions in 2009 and 2010.

“We’d like to thank Mark for his time with the Blazers and wish him the best of luck with the Vipers,” commented General Manager, Craig Bonner.

The Blazers will start the process of looking for a replacement for Ferner immediately.
