Running back Chris Reid of the Mount Allison Mounties is the Atlantic University Sport football offensive player of the week for the week ending Sept. 28, 2014.

Reid, a 5-foot-6, first-year arts student from Brampton, Ont., had 175 rushing yards on 30 carries in Saturday’s 26-3 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters in AUS-RSEQ interlock action.

He also posted a rushing touchdown as well as two receptions for 12 yards in the win.

Defensive back Devante Sampson of the Mount Allison Mounties is the Atlantic University Sport football defensive player of the week.

A second-year sociology student from Mississauga, Ont., Sampson had two interceptions for 66 return yards in Saturday’s AUS-RSEQ interlock victory over Bishop’s.

He also had two solo tackles in the win as well as a punt return for a yard.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Academic program: BA environmental studies
Height and weight: 5’9″, 170lbs

Kicker and punter Ryan Lambert of the Mount Allison Mounties is the Atlantic University Sport football special teams player of the week.

A first-year environmental studies student from Grimsby, Ont., Lambert was 3-for-4 in field goals in Saturday’s interlock win over Bishop’s.

He was also 2-for-2 on extra-point kicks and contributed a rouge, posting 12 total points in the game. Lambert also recorded three kickoffs for 177 yards, averaging 59.0 yards per kickoff.
