Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy has an immediate opening for a pitching coach.

The successful candidate must have experience pitching at the professional (affiliated preferred) or collegiate level and have recent coaching experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience and there is opportunity for additional benefits from conducting camps and clinics.

The position will be to join a Youth Academy coaching staff that includes six full time, year round, coaches and eight seasonal coaches, all with professional and/or collegiate playing and coaching experience. dawgs

The successful candidate will report to a head pitching coach/pitching coordinator and program head coach and be responsible for: 1) in the offseason, supervising the development of pitchers in the Academy from ages 12-to-18; and 2) in season, primarily serving as pitching coach for one of the Dawgs high performance teams and monitoring development and performance of other pitchers in the Academy.

The Dawgs are a non profit organization operating a highly successful summer collegiate team (with average attendance in 2014 of 2,800 fans per game, currently ranked No. 4 in attendance by Ballpark Biz) and a youth academy consisting of 120 players (from all over Canada and as far away as China, Mexico and Dubai) making up six high performance youth teams from ages 12-18.

The Dawgs enjoy arguably the finest amateur facilities in North America, including Seaman Stadium, Tourmaline Field, Conrad & Riverside Field and the Duvernay Indoor Training Center, all located in a “MLB Spring-training like setting.”
