Red Bull Air Race World Championship

Pilots take in Nevada’s biggest sites

(ISN) – Kirby Chambliss of the United States, Nigel Lamb of Great Britain, Pete McLeod of Canada and Martin Sonka of the Czech Republic took in some of the most iconic sights of the American Southwest as they made a recon flight that stretched from the glitz of Las Vegas to the massive Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, the country’s largest reservoir. All four pilots will be in action with the rest of the 12-man field at the seventh stop of the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship this Saturday and Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

With only two races to go, this season’s competition is the closest in the history of the sport. The top three pilots – Lamb in third, Austria’s Hannes Arch in second, and Britain’s Paul Bonhomme in first – are separated by a single point in the Championship standings.
