The 2014-15 PING CCAA Golf Championships began in warm conditions at the Lorette Course, Quebec City, with Wednesday’s opening round.
The competition is fiercer than ever, as Fraser Valley and Champlain St. Lawrence are both looking strong on both the men’s and women’s standings.
In the women’s individual standings, Océane Jacques (Champlain St.
Lawrence) is leading the charge with a score of 76 (+3). She is being tailed by Lorelle Weavers (Niagara College) with a round of 77 (+4) and Carolyn Lee (UNC-Okanagan) with a score of 78 (+5).
The Men’s individual standings see Jarred Calbeck, Camosun College, and Etienne Papineau, Champlain St. Lawrence, tied for first place with a round of 68 (-4). Two more golfers follow with a score of 69 (-3), Aaron Pauls, Fraser Valley Cascades, and Adam Poulin, Champlain St. Lawrence.
In the team competition, on the women’s side, Champlain St. Lawrence (RSEQ) is leading the way with a combined score of 155 (+9). Defending champions, Fraser Valley (PACWEST) are in second place with a 159 (+13), while UBC-Okanagan (PACWEST) sit in third place with a score of 161 (+15)
On the men’s side, Fraser Valley and Camosun (PACWEST) are tied at 289 (+1). Hosts Champlain St. Lawrence (RSEQ) are tied in third place with Holland College (ACAA)
