(ISN) – Seven different Cariboo Cougars found the back of the net over two games in a Thanksgiving weekend sweep of the North Island Silverbacks in Nanaimo.

Darren Hards scored twice in Saturday’s 4-2 victory, while Austin Gray potted a pair on Sunday as the Cougars skated to a 6-2 win. The pair of Ws extend the Cougars’ winning streak to three games and improves their record to 6-1-1 in the BC Major Midget League.

Chase Dubois set up both of Hards’ goals on Saturday and had one of his own to boot. Gray also scored and Justin Almeida contributed a pair of assists.
After a scoreless first period on Sunday, the Cougars scored three times in each of the second and third periods to keep their unbeaten road record intact.
In addition to the pair from Gray, Colton Thomas had a big day offensively with a goal and two assists. Todd Bredo and Alex Hanson each had a goal and assist, while Connor MacEachern had two assists. Keith Redden also scored for the Cats.

The Cougars head back on the road next weekend to play the Thompson Blazers in Chase.
