BC Officials Selected for 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge

(ISN) – BC Hockey officials have been selected to officiate the 2014 World U17 Hockey Challenge which takes place October 31, 2014 –November 9, 2014 in Sarnia – Lambton, Ontario.  Two (2) BC officials have been selected: Mike Langin (Kelowna, BC) will serve as a referee and Dustin Minty (Penticton, BC) as a linesman.

Langin is a Level V official and has worked numerous high profile events including the 2012 Royal Bank Cup and 2011 Canada Winter Games.  Minty has his Level IV officiating certificate and also worked the 2012 Royal Bank Cup.

The first step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge includes three (3) Canadian teams and five (5) international entries in a tournament that showcases of the future stars of the game.  The Canadian teams will be represented by Team Red, Team Black and Team White and will be joined by Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, the United States and Russia.  For more information on the World U17 Hockey Challenge and schedule, please visit the website.
