Coleman Vollrath recorded his first shutout of the season


(ISN) – Cranbrook, BC- The Victoria Royals shut out the Kootenay Ice 4-0 at Western Financial Place, while Royals’ goaltender Coleman Vollrath recorded his first shutout of the season.

Royals’ forward Brandon Magee made his return to the line-up after serving his 12 game suspension, and would register two assists on Brandon Fushimi’s and Axel Blomqvist’s second period markers. Travis Brown had the game winning goal on the powerplay for Victoria, while Logan Fisher had the other tally.

Royals’ netminder Vollrath stopped all 27 shots directed at him for the win. Goaltender Wyatt Hoflin turned away 25 of 29 shots for the Ice.

Victoria went 1/4=25.0% with the man advantage, while Kootenay went 0/2=0.0%.

Victoria now returns home for a pair of games vs. the Vancouver Giants on Friday October 24th and Saturday October 25th. Friday’s contest marks the unveiling of the Royals third jersey, while Saturday’s game is the annual Pink in the Rink Night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
