Letters of Intent
Four Canadians are with the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team at the 16th annual Perfect Game WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Fla, as play contijnued Friday on Day 2.
There are four Canadians with the Toronto Blue Jays team are: RHP Mike Soroka (Calgary, Alta.) from Jim Lawson’s PBF Redbirds; C Andrew Yerzy (Toronto, Ont.) of who plays for coach Ryan McBride and the Toronto Mets, RHP Matt Ianni (Ottawa, Ont.) and OF Demi Orimoloye (Orleans, Ont.) play for coach Tanner Watson’s Ottawa-Nepean Canadians.
Doug Mathieson’s Dbacks Langley Blaze from British Columbia are entered as well as two entries coached by Dan Bleiwas and Dino Roumel: the Ontario Blue Jays and Canada Perfect Game Gold.

Naylor powers Ontario to 7-4 win

Texas Tech commit Josh Naylor (2015, Mississauga, ON) homered and scored twice for the Ontario Blue Jays in their 7-4 win over the Marlins Scout Team Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Naylor displayed good bat speed and extension with light tower power.
Nico Hoerner (2015, Oakland, CA) led all players with three hits, including a double, for the Marlins. Teammate Vito Friscia (2015, Valley Stream, NY) went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. a Hofstra commit, Friscia showed good bat speed and a power approach at the plate.
RHP Graham Ashcraft (2016, Brownsboro, AL) struck out three in 3.0 innings for the Marlins, working in the 84-89 mph range. Teammate and Columbia commit LHP Lucas Hall (2015, Seaford, NY) fanned a pair in 1.0 inning. Hall’s fastball was in the 84-87 mph. He also flashed a mid-70s curve.
RHP Dexter Coughtrey (2015, Kingston, ON) pitched 2.1 innings for Ontario, working in the 80-87 mph range with a low-70s curve.

Syracuse Sports Zone scored three in the top of the 7th to secure a 5-3 comeback win over Canada PG Gold Friday morning at the Roger Dean Complex. Syracuse’s three-run rally included a two-run triple off the bat of Jimmy Titus (2016, Stafford, CT). Titus later scored on a wild pitch. A Bryant commit, Titus went 3-for-3 with the game-winning triple and a double. He displayed a fluid stoke, compact swing and made hard contact at the plate.
Max Hewitt (2015, Midhurst, ON) and Jacob Jones (2015, Mississauga, ON) each recorded two hits for Canada.
RHP Tim Salvadore (2015, Hopkinton, MA) started and pitched 3.0 innings for Syracuse. The Virginia Tech commit was around the plate with his pitches, including a good slider in the upper-70s. His fastball sat in the 84-86 mph range, peaking at 87. Teammate and Pennsylvania commit RHP Jake Nelson (2015, Hopkinton, NH) pitched an inning in relief. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder flashed projectable stuff, firing strikes at 87-90 mph, peaking at 91.

The Palm Beach Select defeated the DBacks Langley Blaze 5-4 in their game on Friday morning. Florida Atlantic commit, MattLemieux (2015, Jupiter HS, FL), led the way for the Palm Beach Select offense showing a live bat and raw power going 2-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI. John O’Connor (2015, Spanish River Community HS, FL) added in a 1-3 performance with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Jacob Koos (2015, Wellington HS, FL) impressed out of the leadoff spot going 2-3 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.
Daniel Mayer (2015, Pope John Paul II HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Palm Beach Select going 3 strong innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit and no walks, while striking out 4 batters. Mayer featured an 81-83/88 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-72 mph curveball and a 76 mph changeup.
For the Blaze, Jesse Mycock Faure (2015, Akron Comm East HS, BC) showed gap power and impact speed going 1-2 with 1 triple and 1 run scored, while Jeremi Longpre (2015, Yale Secondary HS, BC) went 1-1 with 2 RBI.
East Cobb Baseball strikes for 13 runs in win

East Cobb Baseball sent Canada PG Gold home early with a convincing 13-0 win that ended the game after 4 innings.
Chase Smartt (Troy, AL, 2015) led the East Cobb offense, going 2-for-2 with a double, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored, while teammate Jalen Miller (Atlanta, GA, 2015) finished the game 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored, while adding a pair of stolen bases.
Reggie Pruitt (Kennesaw, GA, 2015) also had a multi-hit game for East Cobb, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.
Brock Love (Rainbow City, AL, 2015), Connor Bennett (Buford, GA, 2015), and Nick Bush (Leesburg, GA, 2015) combined for a 4 innings perfect game. Love struck out 1 in his inning of work, showing a 91-92 mph fastball. Bennett struck out 4 hitters in 2 innings of work, displaying an 88-90 mph fastball. Bush struck out the side in order in his inning of work, flashing an 87-88 mph fastball.
