KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Ethan Pitman of Edmonton took eighth place overall on Sunday in men’s 10-metre tower to conclude the final stop on the FINA Grand Prix diving circuit.

Liang Huo of China won the gold medal, Toby Stanley of the U.S., was second and Ooi Tze Liang of Malaysia was third.

Pitman was ninth in the preliminaries and fifth in his semifinal group. The top-three from each of the two semis advanced to the final.

“The field here was much higher than any I have competed against before,” said Pitman, 17, also eighth at the world juniors this year. ”I could have been cleaner on my entries, but I’m happy that I performed very consistently.”

On Friday, Cam McLean of Winnipeg, in his first competition in five years, was eighth on three-metre.
