It was one of the team’s strongest performances on the young season and improves UBC’s record to two wins and three losses.
“Our guys started slowly but played well for most parts of the game” said UBC head coach Shiaz Virjee. “Key performance from our rookie goalie Angus Grauer, and strong defensive play by Christopher Roydhouse secured the win. Strong midfield possession led to number of scoring opportunities and score would have been much higher except for incredible saves by Vikes goalie.”
Sarmento has scored five goals in his last two games – both of which resulted in wins for UBC.
The Thunderbirds’ next game will be Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against West Vancouver Club at Rutledge Field.
