(ISN) – DUNCAN – The Cowichan Sportsplex is proud to unveil their new “Vital Heart” campaign, to be launched at Scotiabank on November 12 at noon. Everyone is welcome to attend the campaign launch.
The Cowichan Sportsplex is excited to partner with the Cowichan Valley Basket Society with an innovative fundraiser that will benefit both organizations. Businesses and individuals are asked to donate $100 to the Vital Heart Campaign; all donations are split 50/50 with the Cowichan Valley Basket Society to fill the need for cash for their family emergency fund.
Healthy food and physical activity TODAY nourishes a healthy heart for TOMORROW. Colleen Fuller, Manager of the Cowichan Valley Basket Society said, “We were thrilled when the Sportsplex asked us if we would be interested in a campaign that would raise funds for both our Societies. It makes sense to partner with someone who understands the importance of health and how important it is to help people to have healthy choices. Especially in these increased times of need, costs continue to go up and families are finding it more and more difficult to be able to meet basic needs. I implore people to really consider joining us in this campaign because a lot of people in our community need help right now. We need food bank donations but the monetary donations really go a long way.”
The fundraising committee for the Cowichan Sportsplex persists in their hard work to raise crucial funding for the Cowichan Sportsplex, and the Vital Heart campaign hopes to sign up 100 participants. Participants will have an opportunity to have the Vital Heart trophy featured in their organization throughout the three weeks of the campaign. Those that sign up will also receive a special tote bag to fill with healthy food bank donations to bring back to either the Basket Society or Sportsplex.
The Cowichan Sportsplex is a 29-acre outdoor sports, leisure and community events venue, managed and developed by a non-profit organization called the Chesterfield Sports Society.
