The 25-19, 25-19, 25-12 victory improves the Spartans to 5-4 on the season, while the loss drops the Cougars to 2-9.

“For the past couple of weeks we have been focusing on our side of the court. Working on raising our percentages and our numbers and trying to do a better job of just managing the ball, controlling it and finding ways to get kills,” commented TWU head coach Ryan Hofer. “I’m really pleased with our performance tonight. It was great to see us work through that tonight and find a way to work on our side of the net. We served well and we did well blocking and attacking and putting pressure on them. It was great to have that focus and come out on top.”

“Alicia Perrin had an outstanding night for us tonight. She blocked well and hit some really nice numbers,” added Hofer. “We were balanced all around the court and our setters did a good job of moving the ball around.”

Spartan second year setter Nikki Cornwall (Coquitlam, B.C.), who finished 34 set assists, led the TWU attack that finished the afternoon hitting at 31.8 percent (41-13-88).
