The Banff Marathon adds Features to 2015 Event

(ISN) – In anticipation of Friday’s registration opening, the Banff Marathon released a number of announcements regarding the 2015 event.

The Banff Marathon, which also offers a Half Marathon and 10K distance, is arguably the planet’s most incredible and beautiful running experience, all in Canada’s first National Park. Starting in the picturesque village of Banff, participants travel through a series of incredible natural, wildlife, and historical stages as they pass by the serene Vermilion Lakes and journey along the Bow Valley Parkway surrounded by stunning mountain vistas – fully closed to traffic. The return trek travels alongside the Bow River and over Banff’s famous bridges finishing to cheering crowds in Banff’s downtown Central Park.

Not only is this event unique in that it occurs in the popular Canadian destination of Banff, organizers announced today the following features for the 2015 event:

– A 10K event has been added

– The “Performance in the Park” music festival will take place on Friday and Saturday with internationally renowned artists

– The “Touring Tin” classic car show will take place on the Saturday (the day before the race) adjacent to the main race site

The 2015 edition marks the second running of the Banff Marathon and after a very successful inaugural year in 2014, organizers are expecting an early sell out with only 1500 spots available for this exclusive experience.
