(ISN) – The Saskatoon Blades have traded left winger Cory Millette to the Prince Albert Raiders for a 2016 5th round draft pick.

The 19 year old from Storthoaks, Saskatchewan started his WHL career with the Red Deer Rebels, before spending the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons with the Blades.

Millette had 17 goals and 34 points last season with the Blades, and currently sits second on the Blades in team scoring this season, with five goals and 14 points.

“We want to give some of our younger guys a bit more of an opportunity to play some more minutes” said Head Coach and General Manager Bob Woods. “In a rebuild, if you’re sitting two or three young guys a night, thats not a good situation. With Cory being 19, we want to give him an opportunity to showcase himself, create a job for himself as a 20”.
