North Dakota hockey player Lisa Marvin survives serious car accident

78

North Dakota women’s hockey player Lisa Marvin just needed some gas. Her pickup had ran out, so she stopped to fill up at about 1:20 p.m. Monday. That’s when a 1999 Chevy Cavalier hit her pickup from behind, flinging Marvin into the air and landing on the pavement.

She suffered serious damage to her right arm and right knee. A bone in Marvin’s arm had broken through the skin, peeking out about three inches.

Between her elbow and shoulder, her arm was shattered.

Her father, David Marvin, said she was “really, really, really lucky to be alive.” Lisa Marvin may be able to leave the hospital sometime this weekend.
