Camosun College Chargers host the Capilano University Blues

(ISN) – The #1 Chargers women were handed their first loss of the season in tonight’s tough five-set battle against the #2 CapU Blues (22-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-22, 16-14). The two teams are now tied at 8-1 apiece. First-year outside hitter Megan Beckett (Reynolds) led the Chargers with 14 kills. Returnee Erika Morris from Prince George had 13 kills and 3 blocks.

It took the Chargers men four hard-hitting sets before they could take down the #7 Blues, but the home team cranked out the win 25-18, 24-26, 25-19, 25-14.

Part 2 of the Chargers’ doubleheader with Capilano resumes tomorrow with matches starting at 1:00pm and 3:00pm at PISE. Saturday’s matches mark the Chargers’ FINAL HOME events for 2014. Stay tuned for the women’s first-place showdown!
