Camosun College Chargers host the Capilano University Blues

(ISN) – The PACWEST’s Top 2 women’s volleyball teams went the distance this weekend cranking out two five set battles with the Blues sweeping the weekend.

Today, the Chargers were defeated CAP 3-2 CAM (25-19, 25-22, 18-25, 21-25, 15-7). Camosun slides to 8-2 and CAP advances to 9-1. Third-year outside hitter Kathryn Fetting led Camosun today with 15 kills, 3 aces and 2 blocks. Fifth-year libero Mariah Holmstrom posted an outstanding 39 digs over 2 days!

The Chargers men swept the weekend and advance to 7-3 with today’s 4-set take-down of the Blues (25-16. 25-18, 21-25, 25-18). Fourth-year middle Alex Sadowski (Belmont) led the Chargers to victory today with 13 kills and 8 blocks. Second-year rightside Rian Plante from Comox posted 13 kills 14 digs.

Next weekend, Camosun hits the road to play their final matches of 2014. The teams travel to Abbotsford where they will face the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades.
