Royals captured a win on Canadian Forces Appreciation Night

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals captured a 5-0 win over the Regina Pats on Canadian Forces Appreciation Night.

Royals’ netminder Jayden Sittler captured his first career WHL shutout in the win. The 18-year-old goaltender turned aside all 33 shots in his second start in as many nights.

Victoria’s Travis Brown tallied two markers including a powerplay goal for the home side. Jared Dmytriw, Taylor Crunk, and Austin Carroll had the other Royals’ markers.

Regina started 15-year-old goalie Jordan Hollett in his first WHL career game where he stopped 21 of 26 shots.

Victoria went 1/1= 100.0% on the powerplay, while Regina went 0/2=0.0%.

The Royals will now head out on a three game road trip starting on Tuesday, November 25th vs. the Portland Winterhawks at 7:00 p.m. They will then face-off against the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday, November 26th at 7:05 p.m. and finish their road trip Saturday, November 29th vs. the Kamloops Blazers with puck drop at 7:00 p.m.

Victoria returns home to begin a four game home stand Tuesday, December 2nd against the Portland Winterhawks. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
