CIS Top 10

(VERSION FRANÇAISE CI-DESSOUS)

OTTAWA – For the fourth consecutive week, there is a new national leader in CIS women’s hockey. The Montreal Carabins (6-2) defeated their archrivals from McGill 5-2 on home ice last Friday to take the pole position back from the Martlets (6-2), who fall back to No. 2 in the new coaches’ poll.

The hockey Martlets are one of five McGill teams in the CIS Top 10 this week. The undefeated basketball Martlets (3-0) have moved up one spot to No. 3 after a 65-55 conquest over Concordia. In men’s hockey, McGill (11-3) remained at No. 9 after extending their win streak to four with a pair of home victories over Ryerson and Toronto last week. In swimming, both the Redmen and Martlets are ranked seventh in the nation after a strong second-place showing at the AUS invitational meet in Halifax last week.

In other CIS sports, Windsor (women’s basketball), Carleton (men’s basketball), UBC (women’s & men’s swimming) and Alberta (men’s hockey, women’s volleyball & men’s volleyball) all hold on to their No. 1 status.
