Two Rebels alumni playing in 102nd Grey Cup

55 OL Tim O’Neill

(ISN) – During the 102nd Grey Cup in Vancouver, 2 WestshoreRebels (formerly known as the Victoria Rebels) alumni will be vying for the CFL’s coveted championship.

Tim O’Neil is in his 8th CFL season and plays Offensive Lineman for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats,  Tim was born in Metchosin (near Victoria), played community football with the Victoria Spartans and Junior football with the Victoria Rebels.  Attached is a picture of him in his rookie year in 1998; Defensive Line, 18 years old, 270lbs and wore jersey #56

Rob Cote (@robcote26) is in his 8th CFL season and plays Running Back for the Calgary Stampeders, Rob was born in Calgary, where he played high school football at Cochrane High School, Cote then played junior football for the Victoria Rebels. In his two seasons, he amassed 49 carries for 407 yards, 90 receptions for 1,698 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added 12 tackles, one fumble recovery and one pass completion for 17 yards. He was the Rebels’ MVP for both seasons.

The Rebels organization wish the best for both these alumni in their quest for the Grey Cup.
