(ISN) – KENT,  – Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced center Alexander True has joined Team Denmark for the 2014 World Junior A Challenge and the 2015 World Junior Championship.

Denmark will play at the 2014 World Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, from December 14 to December 20. Denmark will use the Challenge as a tune up for the 2015 World Junior Championship being held December 26 to January 5 in Toronto and Montreal.

Denmark is in Group B for the World Junior Championship with Sweden, Russia, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Group A consists of Finland, Canada, Slovakia, Germany and the United States.

True has 10 points on five goals and five assists in 30 games this season.

The T-Birds selected center Alexander True from Denmark in the first round of the CHL Import Draft with the 48th overall selection. True played with three teams in three leagues in Denmark during the 2013-14 season. He appeared in 16 games with the Rungsted U17 team and had 62 points on 38 goals and 24 assists. He was promoted to the Rungsted IK team in the Danish second division where he played in 25 games and had 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists. True played 11 games with the Rungsted team in the top Danish men’s league but did not register a point.

True also played for Team Denmark at the U18 World Championship in Finland in April. He appeared in six games and had one assist. True was born in 1997 and will be eligible for the NHL Draft for the first time next summer.

The T-Birds next game is Friday, December 12, at the Tri-City Americans at 7:05pm. They host the Portland Winterhawks on Saturday, December 13, at 7:05pm at ShoWare Center.
