(ISN) – On Monday (15 December) IPC Ice Sledge Hockey launched the website for the 2015 World Championships B-Pool on Monday which will take place in Ostersund, Sweden, in just 90 days’ time from 15-21 March.

The website for the tournament which will feature hosts Sweden, Great Britain, Slovakia, South Korea and Poland is available to view at www.ostersund2015.org.

Craig Spence, the IPC’s Director of Media and Communications, said: “Alongside the World Championships A-Pool and new World Series, 2014-2015 is an incredibly exciting season for ice sledge hockey.

“Having begun to realise its potential to attract worldwide interest at Sochi 2014, it is growing into one of the most popular para-sports.

“Ostersund2015.org will allow fans to follow the athletes and teams, read all about their preparations and rivalries and discover the history of the Championships, and will no doubt attract new followers to this thrilling game.”

Ostersund 2015 takes place just before the 2015 IPC Ice Sledge World Championships A-Pool in Buffalo, New York, USA, from 24 April – 2 May.

The B-Pool World Championships in Nagano, Japan, in 2013, drew six teams on the road to Sochi 2014, as the host nation lost to Germany 3-2 in the gold-medal game of the tournament.
Great Britain beat Estonia 3-2 in the bronze medal match.

Japan’s Takahashi was named best forward and his teammate Satoru Sudo was named best defenseman, while Poland’s Andrzej Mylnarczyk was picked as the best goalkeeper.

Takahashi led all players with eight goals and an assist in the tournament, while Satoru had four goals and four assists. Mylnarczyk recorded an 82 per cent save percentage during the Championships with 105 saves.
