(ISN) – Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have called up two defensemen as 16-year-old Dawson Davidson and 15-year-old Conner McDonald will join the hockey club for the next four games.
Davidson joins the Blazers from the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. In 26 games this season, the 5’11” and 170lb defenseman has five goals and 14 points. Davidson was selected by the Blazers in the third round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
McDonald was selected by the Blazers in the second round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The Delta, BC native joins the Blazers from the Delta Hockey Academy Prep team. In 15 games, McDonald has six goals and 12 points this season.
The Blazers have returned 15-year-old defenseman Nolan Kneen to the Okanagan Rockets of the B.C. Major Midget League. Kneen played four games with the Blazers on their Central Division road trip prior to the Christmas break.
Patrik Maier has been returned to the Blazers from the Under-20 Slovakian team. The 18-year-old suited up in exhibition action for Slovakia, but was returned to the Blazers prior to the start of the World Junior Championships in Toronto and Montreal.
Brady Gaudet is expected to be back in the line-up December 27th as the Blazers return from the Christmas break with a game in Kelowna against the Rockets. The 20-year-old missed the last 18 games with an upper body injury.
With the recent transactions, the Blazers active roster sits at 25 players including two goaltenders, nine defensemen and 14 forwards. Defenseman Michael Fora will miss the next four games as he competes for his native Switzerland and the World Junior Championships.
