(ISN) – The Royals came out more focused than last nights match up with the Cougars.
The team paid attention to detail, and had their best start in the last 7 games. Vollrath was solid and so was the penalty kill. They just have to find a way to be successful offensively without Hicketts (World Juniors) and McGee who is out with the flu. Scoreless after 1 period the shots were 14 Prince George and 9 for the Royals. Carroll drove the net on the first goal and on goal number 2 he streaked down the right side and fired it top corner giving the Royals a 2-0 lead. Chase again rushing down the right side made a perfect pass to Brandon Fushimi who scored making it a 3-0 lead halfway through the game. Carrol continued his hot streak working hard on the fore-check taking the puck away from the weary cougars and getting a shot off of which the rebound was corralled by Dante Haunoun to stretch their lead to 4-0. The Royals played their strongest in weeks outshooting the Cougars 13-10. No scoring in the 3rd. It was a near perfect effort. Every player did their job by out working and outhustling the Cougars on every shift.
That’s the view from my chair.
