Desbiens Commits to Bentley University

(ISN) – WEST KELOWNA, BC – The West Kelowna Warriors are proud to announce that Jonathan Desbiens (96) has committed to Bentley University for the 2016/2017 season.

Desbiens, who is in his first year with the Warriors, has 31 points in 32 games so far, including 17 goals.
The native of Montreal, Quebec spent last season with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, compiling 6 goals and 4 assists in 48 games.

Brent Gough says that the extra year in the BCHL should help.

“Jonathan has been effective for us this season and has really upped his offensive production. To have him back next season to develop and grow into a college player is going to really help this hockey team on the offensive side of the puck.”

When Desbiens heads to Bentley, there could be at least 2 BCHL alumni still with the Falcons, as former Nanaimo Clipper Jayson Argue is a freshman goaltender there, and West Kelowna Alumni Max French is in his sophmore season.

This year’s edition of the Falcons includes 6 BCHL alumni, including Matt Maher and Alex Grieve, two former Warriors.

Bentley University plays in the Northeast Conference of Atlantic Hockey in NCAA D1.
