Ty Lewis has been reassigned to the AAA Midget Wheat Kings

(ISN) – Brandon, MB. — The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 16-year old center Ty Lewis has been reassigned to the AAA Midget Wheat Kings for the balance of the 2014-15 Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League season.

A third round draft choice (47th overall) in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, Lewis appeared in two games for the Wheat Kings this season after suffering an upper body injury during September’s training camp.

In 35 games for the midget Wheat Kings last season, the 5’10” 176 lb Lewis scored 28 goals and 57 points.

Lewis is expected to be in Brandon’s lineup Saturday night when the midgets travel to Winnipeg to meet the Thrashers.

Today’s move leaves the Wheat Kings with twenty-three players on their active roster. Entering Saturday night’s game against the visiting Calgary Hitmen, Brandon’s roster includes thirteen forwards, eight defencemen and two goalkeepers.
