Rebels Make Trade With Pats

RED DEER, AB – Brent Sutter, General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today a trade with the Regina Pats.

The Rebels have acquired 19-year old forward Connor Gay, a 1st round selection in the 2016 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, a 2nd round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and a 7th round selection in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft in exchange for 15-year old prospect Jake Leschyshyn and a 4th round pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft. Leschyshyn was the Rebels 1st round selection in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

Gay is in his 3rd year in the WHL, he is currently 16th in WHL scoring with 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in 39 games. In his career, Gay has 40 goals and 52 assists for 92 points in 135 games.
