(ISN) – KENT, – Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has acquired left wing Cory Millette from the Prince Albert Raiders for a conditional sixth round selection in the 2015 or 2016 Bantam Draft.
“Cory is an experienced forward in the WHL and is a good addition to our young forward group heading into the last half of the season,” said Farwell. “He has shown a scoring touch in the past and we look forward to him bringing us a veteran presence as well as contribute offensively to our team.”
Millette has played 39 games with Prince Alberta and the Saskatoon Blades this season and has eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points.
Millette, from Storthoaks, Saskatchewan, is 5’10 and 194 pounds and is in his fourth season in the WHL. He has played 206 career games with the Raiders, Blades and Red Deer Rebels and has 44 goals and 48 assists for 92 points and 105 penalty minutes.
The T-Birds have a home-and-home series with the Tri-City Americans this weekend. They travel to Kennewick for a game on Friday at 7:05pm. They host the Americans on Sunday, January 11, at 5:05pm at ShoWare Center. The game on Sunday was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 10, but was moved to Sunday because of the Seattle Seahawks Divisional Round Playoff game on Saturday.
