DALLAS — Archie Manning would like to get back on the College Football Playoff selection committee, as long as he’s medically cleared to participate.
Manning took a leave of absence before the committee did its first ranking this season because of surgery. He was still clearly hobbling Friday at the announcement of the new members in the College Football Hall of Fame.
College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock said Manning has been asked to be back and part of the selection process in year two.
Instead of the planned 13 members, the committee did its work this season with 12 members. The process includes frequent travel for meetings the last half of the season.
There is already going to be one change on the committee, with the Big 12 set to nominate one of its athletic directors to replace Oliver Luck, the West Virignia AD who took a job with the NCAA.
