Katryne Villeneuve of the Université de Moncton women’s hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 11, 2015.

A first-year leisure, sport and tourism administration student from Casselman, Ont., Villeneuve scored four goals in two Aigles Bleues victories this past weekend, including both game winners.

In Friday’s 5-1 win over the St. Thomas Tommies in Fredericton, she posted the first goal of the game, on the power play, to open up the scoring. Later in the first period, Villeneuve scored the Aigles’ second goal and eventual game winner.

In Saturday’s 3-0 win over the UPEI Panthers, she posted both the first goal of the game to put the Aigles on the board, as well as their third goal while on the power play.

Villeneuve was named the game’s second star Friday night and took home Subway player of the game honours Saturday.

Tyler Scott of the UPEI Panthers men’s basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 11, 2015.

A second-year business student from Halifax, N.S., Scott was crucial in two weekend wins for the Panthers versus Dalhousie which propelled the squad to first place in the AUS standings.

In an 89-82 overtime win Friday, he contributed 17 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block.

In Saturday’s 94-89 victory over the Tigers, Scott posted 26 points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks. He currently leads the country in scoring, averaging 25.4 points per game.
