(ISN) – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Tri-City Americans 7-1 at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Wednesday night, improving its WHL-best record to 34-7-3-0 on the season.
Rourke Chartier led the offense with two goals and an assist as the WHL goals leader now has 38 goals in 38 games while Dillon Dube also scored twice giving the rookie 10 goals on the season.
Rodney Southam, Justin Kirkland and Chance Braid, with his first goal since being acquired by the Rockets, also scored for the Rockets. Leon Draisaitl had a pair of assists.
Playing in his 100th career WHL game, goalie Jackson Whistle earned the win in net, his 26th of the season, tying Whistle for the WHL lead for goaltender wins this season.
The Rockets outshot Tri-City 35-20 in the game.
The Rockets are back in action on Friday at home when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds.
