Chargers Results CAM VB hosts UFV; CAM BB @ Langara

Camosun College Chargers host the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades

The Chargers men’s and women’s volleyball teams produced back to back wins this weekend sweeping the visiting Cascades in straight sets in all 4 matches.

WOMEN: CAM 3-0 UFV (25-16, 25-23, 25-14)
The Chargers women delivered another convincing win over the Cascades today taking down their opponents in three quick sets. Fourth-year middle Morgan Marshall (Smithers) led the home team this weekend with a two-day total of 19 points which included 13 kills, 4 blocks and 2 aces.

In today’s action, third-year outside hitter Kate Fetting (Lethbridge) put in a great effort with 7 kills, 1 ace and 8 digs, while fifth-year vet Hilary Graham (Courtenay) came to game with 6 kills, 1 block and 1 ace. Camosun advances to 12 wins with 2 losses; UFV moves to 9-5.

MEN: CAM 3-0 UFV (25-20, 25-20, 25-22)
Despite a hard fought effort by the Cascades, Camosun wasted no time in putting their opponents away and closing the UFV-CAM league play series. Second-year leftside Cam Fennema (Pacific Christian) was the lead man for Camosun today contributing 11 kills and 2 blocks for a total of 13 offensive points. Veteran middle Alex Sadowski (Belmont) was close behind with 12 points (8 kills, 4 blocks). The Chargers advance to 11-3; UFV slides to 6-10.
