(ISN) – Prince George, BC—Josh Wolfram made another statement in a case for him being named a Canada West men’s basketball all-star this year.
The fourth year player from Kamloops, BC was dominant in a 81-71 Thompson Rivers University WolfPack victory over the host University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves in Canada West action Saturday (Jan 17) in Prince George, BC.
The WolfPack raised their record to (7-5) to solidify their second place hold in the Explorer Division while UNBC fell to fourth place (5-7).
Wolfram had 11 points in the first quarter alone en route to 29 points and 16 rebounds to lead the WolfPack.
Gerard Gore (third year, forward, St. John’s ANT) had 10 points as well for TRU.
“We played with a lot more energy and we were played better defensively, “said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark. ” It is always good to get a split on the road.”
UNBC was led by Devin McMurtry (Surrey, BC) with a double double. He had 18 points and 14 rebounds. Billey Cheng (Richmond, BC) had 12 points and three assists.
The ‘Pack are back home next weekend (Jan 23-24) against the MacEwan Griffins. Game times at the Tournament Capital Centre are 8 pm both nights.
