(ISN) – The Cariboo Cougars road trip got off to a rough start, but ended on a high note.

After a broken down bus delayed their arrival in Richmond for the second BC Major Midget League showcase weekend, the Cougars dropped a 3-2 decision to the Valley West Hawks on Saturday. The Cougars rebounded with a 2-1 win over the Hawks on Sunday.
Steven Jandric and Colton Thomas scored in the second game of the weekend, propelling the Cougars to victory and a league-leading 26-5-1 record.
On Saturday Darren Hards and Joel Patsey each scored second-period power-play goals, as the Cougars led 2-1 after 40 minutes. But the Hawks responded with a pair of third period goals for the come-from-behind win.
