Wrapping up their respective January schedules, Lindy Ruff’s Dallas Stars (22-19-7) are in Manitoba on Saturday night to take on Paul Maurice’s Winnipeg Jets (26-16-8). Game time is 6:00 p.m. CST. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

This is the third of four meetings between the teams this season. The Jets won each of the first two games in regulation: 5-2 in Dallas on Dec.

9 and 2-1 in Winnipeg on Jan. 14.

The Stars are coming off a 6-3 win in Ottawa on Thursday. Dallas built a 3-0 lead, lost it and then recovered in the third period to win, 6-3 (the final two goals were long-distance empty netters while killing a penalty).

Jamie Benn scored even-strength and shorthanded empty net goals for Dallas, while Colton Sceviour, Ales Hemsky, John Klingberg and Trevor Daley (empty net SHG) scored for Dallas. Klingberg’s goal off the rush was the game-winner. Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 of 28 shots to earn the win.

On the Stars’ injury front, Valeri Nichushkin (hip surgery) and Patrik Nemeth (severe forearm laceration from a skate cut) remain on injured reserve.

Winnipeg went 0-for-Pennsylvania in its first two games after the All-Star break, dropping regulation decisions in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

In Thursday’s 5-2 loss to Philadelphia, the Jets never led but did manage to erase a pair of first-period deficits on even-strength and power play goals by Mathieu Perreault. Winnipeg yielded a slew of odd-man rushes during the game, and losing goaltender Michael Hutchinson played better than his stat line (27 saves on 31 shots) suggest. The Flyers’ final goal was an empty netter. Ondrej Pavelec started the Pittsburgh game.

On the Winnipeg injury list, forward Matt Halischuk (undisclosed) and defenseman Grant Clitsome (back) are out of the lineup.
