Victoria, BC (ISN) – Playing in front of perhaps their largest crowd of the season thanks to a “Toonie Tuesday” promotion, the Victoria Grizzlies used a pair of goals from leading scorer Dane Gibson to skate to a 4-0 shut-out of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in BC Hockey League action at The Q Centre in Victoria.

The Grizzlies also received a 32 save performance from goaltender Michael Stiliadis, who earned his 17th win and second shut-out of the season, earning first star honours in the process.
The Grizzlies jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead thanks to goals from Thomas Gobeil, his 20th of the season and seventh as a Grizzlie (at 13:43), and Gibson’s first (at 15:03).

Gibson would score his second of the game and 24th of the season at 6:47 and speedy Jay Mackie would seal the deal with a breakaway goal at 18:33 to close out all the scoring in the 4-0 win.
