(ISN) – Chester, PA– Linda Salcedo, who had a solid campaign as a player for Widener’s women’s lacrosse team, has been named an assistant coach for the Pride.
She logged over 2,450 minutes in net during her time at Widener. Salcedo recorded 379 saves and a 25-19 record in 57 games played.
On April 25, 2011, she was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Goalkeeper of the week. As a senior, the goalie was named to the Division III Academic Honor Roll by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Salcedo was also a member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll her junior and senior seasons.
Salcedo was an active participant in the Widener community. She was a member of Psi Chi, a National Honors Society for those in the field of Psychology. The 2012 graduate was a four-year member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club and participated in the Special Olympics Send of Team to Nationals initiative in 2010. The organization helped athletes, who were traveling to the national games, prepare for their travel.
Head coach Julie La Zelle and the Pride open the 2015 campaign on February 28 at Edith R. Dixon Field against Eastern at 1:00 pm.
