(ISN) – Kamloops, BC—The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s basketball team have finished the home portion of their 2014-15 Canada West season unbeaten.

The WolfPack went 10-0 at the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre. They closed things out with a 69-59 victory over the visiting Mount Royal University Cougars.
The game marked the regular season swan song for the ‘Pack’s lone fifth year player: Jorri Duxbury. The guard from Salmon Arm, BC was the team’s leading scorer with 15 points.
“It was her night and I am glad we won,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Reeves. “We have to celebrate that and what she has done for our program.”
Duxbury added six rebounds, six steals and two assists.
“We didn’t shoot the ball very well in the second half,” Reeves stated. “We didn’t make shots. We only shot 20 per cent. They were aggressive and made layup after layup. “
TRU did have four other players in double figures besides Duxbury.
Michelle Bos (first year, guard, Surrey, BC) and Kassie Colonna (third year, forward, Invermere, BC) had double doubles for the second straight night. Bos—who now has 11 on the year had 12 points and 13 boards.
Colonna added 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Emma Piggin (first year, guard, Kamloops, BC) notched 11 points with Sarah Malate (fourth year, guard, Calgary, AB) adding 10.
Mount Royal was led by Angela Driscoll with 15 points. Desiree Oakley had 14 points. Tyleigha Nelson chipped in with 13. Candice Duckett added 10 boards.
TRU now has a record of 15-1. While Mount Royal falls to 6-12.
The WolfPack—who claimed the Explorer Division title on Friday night will close out the Canada West regular season next weekend (Feb 13-14) at Fraser Valley. Mount Royal will entertain MacEwan.
Reeves is glad they have some time to work on some of his teams weak points before the post season. ” It is a long season and the bye week is going to help. We will take a couple of days off after next weekend and get our studies in order. We will then focus in on who we will play in that playoff series.”
Reeves believes it will be either Winnipeg or Victoria.
TRU will be at home for that best of three affair which begins February 26 th.
