ORLANDO– Audrey Lacroix of Pont-Rouge, Que., collected her second gold medal in two days and Dominique Bouchard of North Bay, Ont., was also a victor Friday at third stop on the Pro Swim Series.

In the women’s 200-m butterfly, Lacroix clocked two minutes and 10.37 with Caitlin Leverenz of the U.S. second in 2:11.98 and Coutney Harnish, also of the U.S.

third in 2:12.54. On Thursday, Lacroix also won the 100-m butterfly.

In the women’s 100-m backstroke, Bouchard and Mie Nielsen of Denmark tied for first place both clocking 1:00.55. Hilary Caldwell of Victoria was fifth and Danielle Hanus of Newmarket, Ont., sixth. It was Bouchard’s third gold on the circuit this season. She won the 100 and 200-m backstrokes last month in Austin, Texas.

Victoria Poon of Montreal added a silver in the women’s 50-m freestyle clocking 25.82. Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace of the Bahamas won the race in 25.10. Caroline Lapierre-Lemire of Trois-Rivieres, Que., was fifth and Hannah Riordan of Cornwall, Ont. seventh.

In the women’s 400-m freestyle, Danica Ludlow of Victoria earned a bronze in 4:13.78 with Samantha Cheverton of Pointe-Claire, Que., fourth. Elizabeth Beisel of the U.S. took the gold.

Team Ontario added a bronze in the men’s 4X200-m freestyle relay while Alec Page of Victoria was sixth in the men’s 200-m butterfly.

Competition ends Saturday.
