ORLANDO – Dominique Bouchard of North Bay, Ont., showed no signs of cooling off this weekend as she capped the third stop on the Pro Swim Series with a decisive victory in the women’s 200-m backstroke on Saturday.

It was a 1-2 Canadian finish with Bouchard clocking 2:08.99 and world championship medallist Hilary Caldwell of Victoria finishing second at 2:12.06.

Charlotte Evans of Britain was third in 2:14.25. On Friday night Bouchard took silver in the 100-m backstroke and she was a double backstroke winner last month at the second stop on the circuit in Austin, Texas.

Victoria Poon of Montreal added a bronze in the women’s 100-m freestyle clocking 55.72. Arianne Vanderpool-Wallace of the Bahamas took gold in 55.38 and Amanda Weir of the U.S. was second in 55.70.

Caroline Lapierre-Lemire of Trois-Rivieres, Que., was sixth and Hannah Riordan of Cornwall, Ont., seventh.

Ajax Swimming from Ajax, Ont., was also third in the men’s 4X100-m medley relay.

Other Canadian finalists were Matthew Mac of Oakville, Ont., sixth in the 200-m backstroke, Eric Hedlin of Victoria seventh in the 1500-m freestyle and Alec Page of Victoria eighth in the 200-m individual medley.
