(ISN) – Kamloops, BC- The Victoria Royals scored three unanswered goals to take down the Kamloops Blazers 5-2 at Interior Savings Centre.

Victoria forward Alex Forsberg gave the away team a 2-1 lead when he scored with three seconds remaining in the second period. The Royals would go on to notch three goals in the final frame. Tyler Soy and Austin Carroll tallied two markers each for Victoria. Blazers’ Matt Needham and Marc McNulty potted the goals for Kamloops.

Royals’ goaltender Justin Paulic turned away 30 of 32 shots, while Blazers’ netminder Connor Ingram stopped 37 out of the 42 shots he faced.

Victoria went 2/6=33.3% on the powerplay tonight, whereas Kamloops was 0/6=0.0%.

The Royals will close out their three game road-trip with a tilt against the Seattle Thunderbirds at ShoWare Center tomorrow at 5:05 p.m.

Victoria returns home on Tuesday, February 17th when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors at 12:05 p.m. for their inaugural Hockey Hooky Day. The Royals will then face-off against the Kelowna Rockets at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Friday, February 20th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m.
