One in Maine — the Old Orchard Beach Explorers.
And a travel club named the Road City Travelers.
Salary: $600-$850 per month in addition to a meal stipend for road games.
Living Standards: Host families will be used for home players, hotels on the road.
Travel Standards: Travel buses for extended road trips, team vans for short drives.
Roster: Each club will carry a roster of no shorter than 22 active players.
Schedule: Beginning in May, teams will compete during a 48-60 game regular season schedule with playoffs commencing in August.
Dedicated to their search of homegrown talent, the ECBL intends on employing at least five Canadian-born players on both the Niagara Wild and the Waterloo Whiskey Jacks respective rosters in 2015, and February’s open tryout will serve as a means of supplementing the league with premium content from north of the border.
