City of Industry, CA – The UBC Thunderbirds men’s golf team finished fourth at the Folino Invitational Golf Tournament hosted by California State University Fullerton at the Industry Hills Golf Club in the City of Industry, California. Of the ten teams in the field, eight were NCAA Division I schools.

Sacramento State won the tournament by 23 shots, finishing at +11 for the 54 hole tournament. Seattle University was second at +34, UC Santa Barbara came in third place at +35, followed by the Thunderbirds at +36.

UBC’s Nate Ollis finished fourth overall at +2, three shots behind a three-way tie for first and individual medalist honours shared by Sacramento State’s Taylor Knoll and Aaron Beverly and Boise State’s Ty Travis.

Ollis led the Thunderbirds with a solid tournament finishing with a final round 5-over par 77 on Tuesday after rounds of 69 and 72 on Monday. He finished alone in fourth place overall at 2-over par 218 (69-72-77). Ollis carded three birdies, six bogeys, and one double bogey in his final time around the par 72, 7,211 yard Industry Hills Golf Club. 

Conner Kozak carded the low round of the day for UBC on Tuesday, finishing with a 2-over par 74. He ended up in 19th overall at +11 (77-76-74) for the tournament.

Evan Holmes shot a 4-over par 76 in the third round and finished in 16th overall at +9 (72-77-76).

Jack Wood and Scott Secord rounded out the fivesome for the Thunderbirds finishing 37th and 41st overall respectively.
